Shay Laren gives an exclusive interview to Freeones where she answers some very interesting questions about what it’s like for her working in the adult industry…
What led you into the porn business?
By accident, Crystal Klein discovered me in Hawaii.
Did you do anything else before you got into this business?
I worked for a fashion designer in Maui. I ran her store, helped dressed celebrities like Jennifer Love Hewitt, and helped with small fashion shows.
If you had the opportunity to erase this part of your life and start over, would you?
Absolutely not, its given me a great opportunity to meet great people and have a lot fun. I don’t believe in regret. Everything is a lesson, a stepping stone to further wherever you’re headed.
Are you open about your profession with anyone that asks, or are there certain people who you are reluctant to tell?
My family knows, and some of my friends. but I don’t announce it to people I first meet or everyone I’m friends with. It’s personal, and sometimes people don’t understand the business.
How long do you intend to remain in this business? Are you planning on working up until you can no longer find work or is there a particular time line you have?
I haven’t planned a time line. I live every moment in the present. I’m focused on my website right now, not so much finding work with other people.
There seems to be a general perception that participants in this business live life “in the fast lane,” because to most of us it seems that sex and partying goes hand in hand. With that being said, how do you find the time to get rest with all this excitement going on?
My life isn’t so much in the fast lane. For me sex and partying don’t go hand in hand. My idea of partying is hanging out with family and friends, BBQ”s, my bowling league every week 
and cuddling with my pug “Buddha”
How much control do you have of your work? Do you get to choose who you work with?
I am completely in control of my work. If I don’t want to work with someone I refuse the job, but I’m pretty easy going although I demand respect.
What is the best part of your job? The worst?
The best part is at the end of the day the photographer and his employees and I all had a fun and accomplishing day. The worst is when someones being negative or pushy with my limitaions.
What is the first thing you did or bought with your first porn paycheck?
I’ll say first photoshoot paycheck instead of porn….It helped to move all my stuff/car from Hawaii to LA.
Do you feel that “fame” has crimped your lifestyle similar to what a mainstream film star might feel?
I don’t feel famous. I now live in a small town where no one knows what I do.
Has porn affected your personal sex life? If so, how?
nope
Do you have any pets?
Yes my pug “Buddha” and my kitten “Monkey”
What do you like to do when you’re not working? Do you have any hobbies?
Bowling, I just started skiing, I love reading on my hammock. I also just started making jewery.
What are your future ambitions?
To be an entrepreneur of some sorts.
Is there anything you would like your fans to know specifically about you?
I’m a down to Earth girl who wants respect from my fans whom I love.
