It continues to be a trying time for the porn industry in various different ways. The latest kick in the pants for the industry, and fans of it, came when Google announced that porn would now no longer be publicly available across its Blogger sites.
Google’s disappointing attitude towards porn, which first started with their refusal to run any more AdWord ads for adult sites and now includes the censoring of auto-fill adult term and performer searches, just seems to get even more disappointing. Start typing in Sasha Grey in Google. Now try Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Indeed.
The fact that they have so far refused to comment on this change of policy, which will NOT see all adult content pulled from their site but will rather see all such blogs automatically made private, is perhaps the most disheartening occurrence at all. Not only do they continue to marginalise the industry, but they largely refuse to give any satisfactory answers as to why they are doing so. A real shame.
