The model listing site ModelMayhem is contesting a charge that they were negligent in failing to warn a member about two men who used the site to lure her to a bogus casting call before drugging and raping her.
The woman, who has remained anonymous, claims the site knew about the dangers posed by the two men and is suing them as a result. The site has received support from many quarters and is seeking to have the charge and accusation dropped.
It has raised the debate once again about whether sites should be held accountable for the actions of its users and the debate is set to continue long after this case has been settled, one way or another.
