The Supreme Administrative Court in Egypt has ordered that all porn sites be banned immediately in a sweeping move aimed at wiping out “venomous and vile” pornography.
And I think we may well have found the person to blame – this woman! Who would have though such a seemingly tame act would lead to such a grand move in policy?
Then again, it’s hardly surprising as many governments will use any excuse they can find to put an end to porn and this is just one more example of that.
Such a move has been attempted before in Egypt, but the law was never implemented after widespread criticism. Let’s hope similar such protests will put an end to it once again.
