Pornhub ‘Sexual Wellness Centre’ Faces Criticism

February 21, 2017, by Steve

It was, of course, inevitable that Pornhub’s new sexual wellness centre was going to be the butt of some pretty harsh criticism. Yet it was also inevitable that much of that criticism would be misguided as well as disappointment.

Take this article from Leah Fessler, for instance. What it essentially shows is that Pornhub is damned if it does and damned if it doesn’t.

Stand by and refusing to pump some of its massive resources into trying to help people with their own sexuality and sexual struggles and issues, they get criticised.

Actually take steps to help people, they get criticised. The whole crux of this argument centres around the belief on the part of the author that mainstream porn is to blame for many of the sexual ills in society. So, what exactly is wrong with them trying to address those, if you believe that is the case?

She doesn’t actually make any suggestions about HOW they can help – yet she namedrops the controversial polemic documentary Hot Girls Wanted as a resource people should investigate if they REALLY want to learn more about porn and sexuality.

And she does in the same sentence where she asks for readers to investigate non-judgemental sexual education resources. Yeah, about that, Leah….
