What’s New with the New Freeones Build Vol. 4

It’s January and we’ve survived the holidays over here at FreeOnes as well as AVN last week (myself and one of the developers went). So between the holidays and having to go to the states for a week, there wasn’t a lot of rapid development but we have gotten some big things completed over at www.freeones.vg!

One of the biggest things we’ve done is add another developer to our team.  Right now he’s only part time but in April he’s hopefully joining us full time.  We’re already seeing him produce work, even part time so that’s exciting! It means we can sneak in an extra feature each sprint!

So right, onto the good stuff.  The things that we’ve accomplished in the last 6 weeks!  Keep in mind not all of this is available to the public quite yet:

Things You Can Currently See

• added new filter options on the babe page at www.freeones.vg.  We added their career status (active, retired, deceased, unknown), their date of death and bra size.
• we added more providers into the cam feature.  On top of this I have FreeOnes Cams and XLove Cams on the way to production, hopefully by Monday.

• adding thumbnails to links in the links sections! This is also an ongoing process. At the moment we’re using machine learning to recognize faces and grab the image automatically but some linked pages just doesn’t have anything appropriate. So now we’re having to build a little tool that allows a human being to manually add thumbnail pictures. Again, this is a work in progress!
• made some improvements to the babe dashboard and profile to make them look nicer.
• you can now log into your account and see your account information. However, to edit it you will have to do that on the http://my.freeones.com side right now. This is because the data only syncs from the old site to the new. This is also why we currently aren’t allowing registration on the beta site. If you try to log in, you may have issues. We are working with this and you’ll simply have to update your password.

Things in Progress

• we’re still working on ranking. Unsurprising it’s a HUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGEEEEE deal and there is a shit ton of data already stored. So the devs are working with the infrastructure guys to figure out the best way to migrate the old data to the new site, in this decade (we’re not starting at 0 so no hard work will be erased). Once that’s done, then we can start creating the code for the new ranking system that will be faster, fresher and encompass loads more things to encourage loads of content and activity from the OCSMs! Hopefully this will be fully up and running by the end of Q1…
• another big new feature was added that the current site doesn’t have. Site Channels! Where babe sections have all the content she’s shot, Channels are all about the site. So if you’re a fan of Jules Jordan, Mr. Skin or one of the other hundreds of sites FreeOnes works with, you’ll be able to go and see what they have been shooting. There are a few bugs that I’m hoping are addressed this week so we can work on getting some channels added and then make it public for your wanking pleasure.
• started work on the frontend part of the Paysite Reviews. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks we’ll have the data synced over from the old database and tied to the new design. We’re also working on the filter for reviews so again, you can find exactly what you’re looking for. We do plan on overhauling the entire thing, but it probably won’t start till the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020.
• working on a conversion system for height, weight, bra and shoe size on babe profiles so if you enter freedom units, it’ll also show the conversion for the rest of the world and vice versa. Same with US to EU shoe size and US to EU bra size. Hopefully this is done in the next few weeks.
• adding back the active OCSM block on the home page (hint.. activity will start playing into babe rank on the new site!). This should be done in the next 2 weeks, hopefully.

Behind the Scenes Things

• have begun work on a user notification system. In the end this will give all users (you guys, performers, us as admin, site owners, etc) notifications about all sorts of things. New content for your favorite babes, your link suggestion has been approved, your new babe submit has been accepted/rejected, etc and so on. This is a huge, huge, huge feature so I don’t think it’ll be out until later this year but we’ve started the ground work since it’s fundamental to the new site.
• working on user favorites. Again, a really big feature that’s very integral to the site. So it’s being worked on behind the scenes but probably won’t be able to see it for a few months yet.
• LOADS of work on the brains of the site which links all of the content to the various sites. There’s a lot of information that has to be brought from the old system to the new. This is ongoing work, but it takes time so features that you can see and play with may seem to come out slower.

Plans for the Near Future

This week Mr. FreeOnes and I (Petra) will be sitting down to go over what still needs to be done.  We have a very ambitious date to cut off the old site’s front end by August.  The plan is that we will still run the new frontend off the old CMS while we switch to heavily working on the new CMS.

Also, hopefully in the plans for the near future is to put an existing site with traffic (perhaps in the trans niche…) onto the new software so we can work out bugs and workflow issues in the CMS.

So as you can see, we’re making progress.  It feels slow, but a lot has really been done!
