Minx Addiction gives an exclusive interview to Freeones where she answers some very interesting questions about what it’s like for her working in the adult industry…
What led you into the porn business?
I got into alternative porn and erotica around 18 years old. I joined up with Suicide Girls for a bit and then started my own website called Gothic Minx. I appeared in some adult magazines and on various websites like darkplay and cyberdyke. This gave me an opportunity to further explore my sexuality. I developed several fetishes and really enjoyed posing nude in front of the camera. I liked that I was empowered as a woman. I could pose anyway I wanted, create weird sets and outfits, and flaunt my tattoos. A few years later, I created my new official website, minxaddiction.com, and began to really indulge in my love of erotica and the alternative lifestyle. I regularly shoot videos (solo, girl/girl, behind the scenes), and sexy fetishy photosets like stocking play, latex, heels, pinup, and bondage.
Did you do anything else before you got into this business?
Yes, and I still do. I finished by BA degree and I have almost completed my MA degree. I enjoy photography, painting, and writing. I also play keyboards in a metal band.
If you had the opportunity to erase this part of your life and start over, would you?
No. I have no regrets. I enjoy what I do and I have been allowed so many opportunities I wouldn’t normally have had.
Are you open about your profession with anyone that asks, or are there certain people who you are reluctant to tell?
In my personal life, some people know and some don’t know. I try to keep everything professional and private, so I don’t tell everyone I meet or am friends with. Only people very close to me, whom I can trust, know.
How long do you intend to remain in this business? Are you planning on working up until you can no longer find work or is there a particular time line you have?
No timeframe. I want to do this until I don’t want to anymore. Simply put, when it becomes work and not fun, then I don’t want to do it anymore. I’m still having fun and constantly have new ideas for shoots.
There seems to be a general perception that participants in this business live life “in the fast lane,” because to most of us it seems that sex and partying goes hand in hand. With that being said, how do you find the time to get rest with all this excitement going on?
Actually, I’m a very normal person. I go to work and school and I have responsibilities. I party, but not 24/7. I like to relax just like everyone else. I watch movies, go to cafe’s, read, write, and meditate.
How much control do you have of your work? Do you get to choose who you work with?
Of course. I decide everything. From the other models I want to work with, to sets, to outfits.
Can you refuse to do scenes with people you don’t click with?
Yes I can, but it hasn’t happened yet. I like everyone I’ve had an opportunity to work with so far.
Do you have your say about the use (or not) of condoms in a scene if you do b/g hardcore?
I don’t actually do hardcore, or scenes with men, so this isn’t an issue.
What is the best part of your job? The worst?
I like being paid to be naked. It’s natural and fun. Also, getting naked with other hot chicks is fun ? The worst part would probably be the massive amounts of time involved in shoots and videos. I’ve had 12 hour shoot days sometimes. (www.top5.com)
What is the strangest thing you’ve been asked to do on set? Did you do it?
I can’t think of anything. Maybe because I’m a strange person by nature.
What is the most embarrassing thing to ever happen to you while on the job?
Probably when I have tried to kiss someone and they turned right at that moment without knowing it and I got a mouth full of hair.
Should there be more kissing on the lips between actors, or is kissing considered “too intimate” for the porn business?
I think it’s up to each individual. I don’t have a problem with it, but yes it is very intimate.
What is the first thing you did or bought with your first porn paycheck?
I don’t really remember. I think clothes.
Do you feel that “fame” has cramped your lifestyle similar to what a mainstream film star might feel?
No. I actually look quite normal in real life so I hardly ever get recognized. I also don’t live in a place like Hollywood. I’m a small town country girl.
Has porn affected your personal sex life? If so, how?
No.
Do you have any pets?
No. I want a kitty though, but just don’t have the time.
What do you like to do when you’re not working? Do you have any hobbies?
Painting, writing, reading, hiking, playing keyboards, listening to music, watching movies, hanging out with friends.
What are your future ambitions?
To graduate with my MA and fulfill all of my personal career goals. I also want to travel the world.
