One woman is trying to pressure Google to bury revenge porn

Revenge porn has been very much a topic for discussion recently, both on this blog and in general, and one woman is trying to get Google to eliminate revenge porn from its searches.

Mary Anne Franks, who has been drafting laws against revenge porn for 3 years now, has joined forced with revenge porn victim Holly Jacobs to create the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative.

Pointing to how Google has dealt with filtering out other illegal content from its searches, they claim that Google should take a similar approach to revenge porn. It would obviously be a difficult algorithm to create and there is always the possibility that some legal porn will be caught up in this.

But any such moves that at least cut down the availability of revenge porn are to be applauded and are, once again, supported fully by FreeOnes.
