As reported on Refinery29 and The Daily Beast, Russell Brand’s tiresome transformation into a wannabe 21st century political, cultural and sociological overlord has taken a predictable turn as he now takes a swing at pornography.

It’s predictable that the second rate Johnny Depp impersonator would take this turn as it’s easier to blame his addiction to sex and pornography on sex and pornography rather than his own mental health issues. And as ever, porn is an extremely easy target and will once again ride with the punches and continue on its merry way being enjoyed, safely, by millions of people across the world.

No doubt Brand, who I did like when he was actually funny, will come out with lots of big words, talk really fast and wave his arms about enigmatically to make it sound as though he’s talking sense when in actual fact he’s talking complete bollocks. But I’ll leave the final words with the wonderful Aurora Snow and Holly Randall from the above The Daily Beast link:-

“Maybe porn isn’t the culprit here. Perhaps this latest anti-porn crusade reflects Brand’s true struggle with accountability.

“On some level I can relate to him,” says Holly Randall. “It’s no secret that he’s had addiction problems. I think his situation where he is blaming porn for his sex addiction, that’s like me if I blame alcohol for my addiction problems. It’s no secret either that I am a recovering alcoholic, that’s a demon I have to deal with. So for him to lump porn into this category of destroying America and destroying his relationships and his situation with promiscuity, that says more about him and his issues than it does about porn.””
