How did you start out in the porn business?
Ok, firstly I don’t classify what I do as “porn”. I like to call it “adult content” and I’ll tell you why. I believe porn has to have a dick involved at some point to get the “porn” title. And if that wern’t the case then why wouldn’t we classify actors and actresses who do nude scenes in movies pornstars?
As for how I got started, I was approached over a year ago by the owners of GNDModels.com, James and Bryci asking me if I’d like to be apart of their new project. Of course I agreed and said yes almost immediately and almost a year later we started branching off into solo sites for some of the GND girls. Thus how GNDMonroe.com was born
Do you have another job, or is this your current profession?
I do have another job. Im a professional Makeup Artist and HairStylist.
Do you only work on your own site, or do you do work for other people as well?
My site is the only site other than GNDModels.com that I do content for. I do camming as well through another network that is affiliated with my site though.
Are you open about what you do, or are there people that you would rather not know?
I think that if you’re not open about what you do and try to hide it, then chances are you shouldn’t be doing it anyways. Im very open about it, I don’t go out of my way to tell people about what I do, but I’m very open about it if they do know.
Did you ever watch porn before you started in the industry?
Of course, I still do 
Do you think you’ll ever move beyond cam shows into other areas of the industry?
Going back 2 years from now I would have never guessed that this is what I would be doing. From that I learned one day at a time, think about the present and go from there.
What was your first cam show like? Was it what you expected? If you could go back and do it again, what would you do differently?
I was a little nervous for sure but I knew what to expect because I was able to sit in on a couple other girls shows. It was totally what I expected, I had a blast then, and I have a blast now, I still from time to time get nervous when I do them. And no, I wouldn’t change a thing.

What made you decide to start adult modeling?
Kyla Apple:We were approached by our manager to shoot for Playboy. I thought it would be fun and a good way to make some extra money while in college.
Kira Apple:Our manager approached us to shoot for Playboy. We didn’t get it (yet) and decided to do our own website. He introduced us to another company and the wheels went into motion.
What did you do before you started this career path?
Kyla Apple:Full time student, still am.
Kira Apple:I’m still in school full time.
If you had the opportunity to erase this part of your life and start over, would you?
Kyla Apple:No. I like what I do.
Kira Apple:Not a chance. I love our site and it helps us with our school bills.
Are you open about your profession with those that ask, or are there people you’re reluctant to tell.
Kyla Apple:I don’t mind talking about our site and the fun stuff we do on it. Although, I don’t tell “everybody” about it, if you know what I mean.
Kira Apple:I never told a single soul, but I think our friends know about it.
How long do you plan on staying in this business? Do you have any plans for when you retire?
Kyla Apple:Retire? haha…that’s a long ways away.
Kira Apple:As long as I look hot and sexy, and my sister wants to pose with me, I say, let’s do it!
What’s the best part of your job? The worst?
Kyla Apple:Well, I don’t consider working our site as a “job.” We do it cause we like to. Some of it is work though.
Kira Apple:The best part is creating hot and sexy pictorials, that bad part is having to go pee during the middle of a shoot!
What’s the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you so far in regards to working in this business?
Kyla Apple:One of my classmates saw the site, and became a member!
Kira Apple:Some people think we’re the Ikki twins! Blech! No way!! They’re gross looking!
Are you going to ever try something different in the adult industry, such as hardcore or girl/girl acting?
Kyla Apple:Nope, no plans. I just like working with my sister, taking fun tease shots for our fans on our site.

What made you decide to become a model?
I had never planned to become a model. I started dancing when I was younger, and as I went to dance school I needed pictures for my portfolio to promote myself as a dancer. After a few agencies had seen my pictures they said I should try modelling. I had a few catalogue shoots and modelled for teen fashion but I did not really enjoy modelling until I was around 18, as I was then old enough to do glamour work and wear sexy lingerie and outfits. I then realised that was what I wanted to do as a profession.
Do you model full-time? If so, what did you do before this? If not, what else do you do?
Yes I model full time. I previously was a member of a dance troupe for shows, cheerleading and music videos.
Do you have any regrets about modeling?
I have no regrets modelling, but I have done a few shoots in the past that I wish I had not done.
So far, what has your favorite job been within the modeling industry?
My favourite job was when I got to work in Athens with other female and male models for a lingerie brand. It was only a few hours work during the day and then we could lounge around the hotel pool and drink cocktails. It was an amazing place.
Do you do nude modeling? If so, what’s the best thing about modeling nude? If not, what’s keeping you from trying it?
I only do classic nude for publications such as Playboy. I do not want to go further than that as I feel I will be moving into a different category and I am happy with the work that I do now.
What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen while working so far?
I was recently on a shoot in the Canary Islands and had reached the nudist area. I felt ok being there as other people were naked and it wouldn’t matter that I was doing a shoot topless. Within minutes of doing the shoot there were nude guys coming out of nowhere and were playing with themselves whilst watching me. I was so shocked but could not stop laughing as had never experienced anything like that before.
Have you had any really embarrassing moments that you’d like to share with us?
I once had a bad hair day and was in a rush to go to work, so I put a wig on. It looked quite realistic and I was hoping no one would know. When I arrived at the studio, the makeup artist wanted to curl my hair but I said that I had extensions and would damage them, so luckily she left it. When I began my shoot the photographer put the wind machine on and it was so powerful that it blew my wig off. The photographer even managed to take get a snap of the wig in mid air. I was so embarrassed as everyone thought it was my real hair. I had no way I could style that one out!
What’s the best part of your job? The worst?
The best part of my job is that each day is different. I get to travel to so many different places and meet new people all the time. The worst part is always having to look good. Sometimes it’s a struggle to look sexy in front of the camera if you’re not in a good mood or if you feel unwell. It shows in pictures when you’re not feeling good.

So when was your first actual adult shoot?
My first shoot was in early February 2003. I had never even modeled mainstream before, so not only was it my first time getting naked in front of the camera, but it was my first time shooting in front of a camera professionally. Scott St. James shot the set and it turned out so good that Club Magazine bought it! So my very first shoot ever was published in Club.
How was that? Did it feel weird or really good?
I was completely comfortable and everyone on set didn’t believe that it was my first time shooting. I guess I was just a born natural! I worked in the adult business in retail and distribution of DVDs, so I was familiar with what a photo should look like and how I needed to pose.
What made you decide to become a nude model?
As I said, I worked in the adult business before working as a model. One of my job responsibilities was to run our booths at various adult conventions and shows…namely AEE and Erotica LA. At every show I was approached by numerous porn directors asking me to do hardcore. I didn’t want to shoot hardcore so I continuously turned them down. It wasn’t until AEE in 2003 that Vince Vouyer suggested I do nude modeling. It never occurred to me that I could shoot alone because I was never really exposed to the glamour world…just the hardcore world through my job. So he introduced me to Scott St. James and Andrew Blake and the next week I went to their offices and met with them. Less than a month later I was booked for my first shoot.
How did your family and friends take it when you decided to go into the adult industry?
Before I had booked my first shoot, I told my grandparents that I was thinking about shooting nude. My grandparents raised me and I’ve always been extremely open and close with them, so I wanted them to know about it before I even did it. They’ve always been very supportive of me and trust me to make the right decisions, so they didn’t have a problem with it. They actually took it better than I had expected them to. My other family members didn’t know for quite some time about it…maybe a year after I had been shooting. Most seem fine with it. What can they really say? I’m an adult and am allowed to make my own choices. My friends are mostly all ok with it. I lost a couple in the beginning but they were never really close friends so I don’t really care that they didn’t agree with what I do. My real friends accept me and my career choice no matter what I decide to do and I find that those friends are my real friends.
Of course we want to know some personal information, what’s your favorite movie?
That’s a difficult one because I love movies. I actually have my degree in Film Production so I’ve had to watch and analyze a lot of movies. I couldn’t pick just one, but favorites of mine are Run Lola Run, Donnie Darko, Amelie, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?, Chinatown, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Shaun of the Dead, 28 Days Later, Tim Burton and Quentin Tarantino movies, and Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. Quite the array of films, I know!
Favorite food?
Sushi! I won’t eat everything at a sushi restaurant but I love the majority of it.

There seems to be a general perception that participants in this business live life “in the fast lane,” because to most of us it seems that sex and partying goes hand in hand. With that being said, how do you find the time to get rest with all this excitement going on?
I certainly don’t live in the “fast lane” but I am exploring my sexuality and learning a lot more about myself and what I like!
How much control do you have of your work? Do you get to choose who you work with?
I control all of what I do, and I do work solo.
Can you refuse to do scenes with people you don’t click with?
Certainly!
Do you have your say about the use (or not) of condoms in a scene if you do b/g hardcore?
I don’t do hardcore. 
What is the best part of your job? The worst?
The best part is being able to explore myself and my body….something that I have not done in the past. I am loving it! The worst part is keeping it a secret! It is so hard!
