Revenge Porn Documentary Earns Mixed Reviews
A documentary about revenge porn, entitled Revenge Porn, which aired on Monday night on network TV in the UK has earned a mixture of praise and criticism for its presenter Anna Richardson.
The show saw her upload pictures of herself to a well-known revenge porn site only to see her inundated with abusive and disturbing comments about the pictures.
While some reviewers praised her courage in literally exposing herself in this way and potentially widening debate about the subject, others criticised the staged feel to her reaction to some of the comments and felt it was too light-hearted on some fronts.
I guess that’s always the problem with such a show, especially for network TV. First and foremost, it DOES have to be entertaining and I’m not sure some subject matters always lend themselves to that.
