The previously little known Los Angeles band Yacht have been criticised for the release of a sex tape they orchestrated the release in an effort to promote an upcoming record.
New York lawyer Carrie Goldberg stated in The Guardian that this “bullshit marketing stunt” was likely to make it more difficult for real victims of sex tapes and so-called revenge porn to have their stories heard and believed.
It’s certainly a very peculiar stunt to carry out but, unfortunately, it seems to have worked for them as it has garnered them massive publicity including trending worldwide earlier this week on Twitter.
