Prior to founding bettybeauty, inc., Nancy started her entrepreneurial path in Los Angeles. She was tapped to develop and launch the entertainment channel called Movietime, which launched in 1987. After it was sold in 1989, she was an instrumental part of the launch team for the network now known as E! Entertainment Television. In 1999, Nancy and her husband, Academy-award nominated filmmaker Andrew Jarecki, sold their company MovieFone, the iconic movie showtimes listing and information service, to AOL Time Warner.
Life changed for Nancy in 2009 when she suffered a near death subarachnoid brain hemorrhage, yet survived against all odds. She is currently writing a memoir about her medical recovery, and she works with NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medicine’s brain health initiative programs.
