Netflix Pornhub Documentary Scores Big With Viewers
It might have escaped your attention, because of the complete lack of publicity they give the vast majority of their new releases, but Netflix released a documentary about Pornhub this week. And it’s been a hit.
Entitled Money Shot: The Pornhub Story, the documentary explores the rise and current fall of the porn tube site, interviewing a number of prominent names from within the industry, and examining the controversies that it has gone through during its lifetime.
The site, of course, is now no longer quite the giant it once was but is still a go-to for many performers wanting to publish or publicise their own content. Also with consumers looking to, well, consume.
Porn documentaries rarely offer a balanced or fair view of the industry but figures from within it have received it well. Siri Dahl and Asa Akira, both of whom are interviewed, have stated that they’re pleased with how it’s turned out. Dahl has also stated that it has led to conversations about her career from those around her that she’s never had before.
At the time of writing, the documentary remains in Netflix’s top 10 several days after its release and has reportedly been streamed by over 15 million households worldwide.
