German Sex E-Book Sale Gets Curfew

June 25, 2015, by Steve

In one of the stranger pieces of legislation that have come to light to recently, and there have been a fair few of them flying around, the BBC reports an odd restriction on the sale of sexually themed e-books in Germany.

Apparently, you will now only be able to buy such material between 22:00 and 06:00 from now on – and if booksellers don’t abide by the rules, they will get a €50,000 fine.

It’s such an odd rule this because, presumably, there is no curfew on viewing porn and so on in Germany? So why are e-books being targeted? In fact I don’t think I have ever even considered trying an e-book when it comes to porn. Oh well, I’m sure Germans will manage – somehow!
