Is There Any ‘Good’ Porn?

There’s quite an interesting article on the Dazed website right now that asks the question, is there such a thing as good porn?

Now, initially from that title it looks as though it’s just going to be another hatchet job on the porn industry, but it’s actually not. It’s just a rather silly title for what this article is really about?

It’s more looking at the quality of the performances in porn and whether any of them, compared to traditional movie, TV and theatrical performances, can be seen as good.

It’s something I’ve pondered a lot and I particularly ponder it when I see a porn star making an appearance in a mainstream film and actually showing talent in that environment, as Belladonna did in Inherent Vice.

I guess for the most part, porn stars don’t have to technically be ‘good’ actors because that’s not really what their job requires. But as porn becomes more and more cinematic and ‘artistic’, I do believe that will change quite significantly
