Hotels “Pretty Okay” With Porn Viewing

July 22, 2016, by Steve

There’s a really good article courtesy of The Atlantic today regarding the steady elimination of pay-per-view porn in hotels, something I have been covering here on this blog in the last few months.

As is pointed out in this article, the decision has almost certainly been made less because it’s a ‘moral’ concern for these hotel chains and more because it’s simply not financially viable any more.

The fact that said chains are not blocking people from viewing porn on their WiFi services says it all, really – it’s significantly cheaper to watch porn online, and hotels are simply putting two and two together.

Not sure why the article equates this to recent moves by McDonalds and Starbucks to eliminate porn use on their free WiFi, but still an interesting read.
