UK Radio Presenter Advocates Porn Analysis At School

October 19, 2016, by Steve

I’m sort of in two minds about this idea as highlighted by an article in The Daily Mail, which is predictably tailed by a whole raft of typically hysterical comments from the usual right-wing middle England complainers that read that appalling rag.

Jenni Murray’s intentions are more than noble, and certainly I think that some of her ideas are not only good but it’s staggering they’re not already part of a school curriculum in 2016.

But as someone who has been reviewing porn for over 12 years, I’m here to tell you that a critical and analytical approach to pornography along the lines of the reading of a Jane Austen novel will never work.

The two are not similar. You can’t read them both in the same way and most pornography just does not stand up to critical analysis, just like many books and films don’t.

A much more logical approach would be to take a selection of scenes from key movies down the years and to look at those. But plucking any old movie from the Brazzers library? Nuh uh.
