For the first time perhaps in its entire history, the small northern town of Consett in England has been at the centre of headlines and numerous news stories in the last few days.
That was after a Reuters investigation found that the town had, unknowingly, been turned into a hub for online porn and dating site businesses and activity, as revealed by the BBC.
It’s a peculiar story, this, with many of the people who had been working in this line claiming they had no idea what or who they were working for – and now Reuters are refusing to comment on the story.
Sounds like the basis for a good conspiracy drama, if you ask me.
