Indian Writer Pens Book About Female Porn Consumption

May 30, 2018, by Steve

Quite regularly in the last couple of years I’ve blogged about how Indian porn consumers have faced a constant fight from the country’s authorities desperate to suppress or ban porn in any way they can.

In this excellent article on Quartz, Indian writer Richal Kaul Padte’s new book Cybersexy: Rethinking Pornography talks about how the fight for porn’s continued legalisation in India is a fight for the control of women’s bodies in a country where appalling crimes are being committed against women.

It also talks extensively about how porn is being consumed in huge quantities by non-male viewers in the country and how the debate about porn needs to focus more on women, transgender and non-binary people. Well worth a read.
