Max Hardcore Dead at 66
Max Hardcore, the porn actor and director who worked in the industry for over three decades, has died after a long battle against thyroid cancer at the age of 66.
His publicist and manager Paul Munoz confirmed the news, saying that Hardcore died following complications after returning home after completing a course of chemotherapy.
Hardcore will go down as one of the most controversial and divisive figures in porn history. His extremely graphic content continues to be a cause for debate over 30 years after his debut in 1991.
Responses to his death have been similarly mixed.
Former performer Layla Rivera led tributes to him calling Hardcore “my best friend” and saying “The world will never have another guy like you”.
Hardcore served a year long sentence in jail for obscenity charges, charges that are still debated even beyond the sphere of porn to this day. The same will surely be the case of his life and career, too.
