Erika Lust Criticises VR Porn

August 2, 2015, by Steve

Prominent feminist porn director and writer Erika Lust has criticised the porn industry’s steps into virtual reality by labelling current VR porn as lacking any interaction and for being aimed almost solely at men.

In her piece for Fortune, Lust also slams the lack of passion and heat in such porn and suggests that there is a real opportunity for porn to use the technology in truly unique ways that it is currently missing out on.

Her comments do seem to mirror porn in many other ways as well and as it is likely to be the big name companies, that mostly trade in male-targeted product, that will be able to afford to produce material for the VR market.

Porn may once again be at the forefront of technological advances, but it seems not everyone is impressed by the steps it has made in this direction so far, and probably with some justification.
