Sweden Experiences A New Wave Of Feminist Porn
I’m always fascinated to read about pockets of porn movements in different parts of the world. We find porn so dominated by the American mainstream market that hearing about what’s going on elsewhere on the planet is always a tonic.
This interesting article by The Creators Project talks about a new wave of feminist porn that is sweeping through Sweden. Traditionally, of course, Scandinavia (and especially Denmark and Sweden) have been viewed as very sexually liberal and porn positive.
But the homegrown porn industries have waned over there significantly since the 80s and now, like almost everywhere else, porn consumption is mostly focused on the big name US companies.
Reading about Zara Kjellner’s New Level Of Pornography movement, it seems to me that there’s not just an attempt to create a more feminist point of view when it comes to Scandinavian porn but just a different perspective altogether.
