The long-running UK soap opera Coronation Street is to run a storyline centring around a character who is set to be terrorised in a revenge porn plot by an ex-boyfriend, according to Digital Spy.
The storyline is set to run from next week and continues the visibility that this crime is being given on national TV in the UK, with documentaries having recent been broadcast on the subject as well.
However, the crime being given air-time in one of the country’s most watched TV shows during a prime time slot is certainly, potentially, a massive step towards increasing awareness of revenge porn and it will be interesting to see what the results are of this storyline.
